Our compassion or love should never be about what we want for ourselves at the expense of someone else.

As a nurse, I have seen a lot of patients with family who are dying and have power of attorney. My wisdom is don’t let anyone suffer for your benefit just because you don’t want them to die.

Try to reflect on the joy of the experience.

Grief isn’t something you get over or move past. It’s something you absorb. You learn to live with loss. And life does go on. And it can be good again.
